Description
Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) is a water-soluble cosmetic active widely used in skincare and personal care formulations for its versatile skin-conditioning and barrier-supporting properties.
Also known as Vitamin B3, Niacinamide is especially popular in facial serums, creams, lotions and moisturizers formulated to improve the appearance of uneven skin tone, enlarged pores, dullness and fine lines. It also helps support the skin's natural moisture barrier, helping reduce moisture loss and promote smoother, softer and more hydrated-looking skin.
Its versatility and excellent water solubility make Niacinamide a popular active ingredient for a wide range of modern skincare formulations, including products for dry, oily, combination and mature-looking skin.

Formulation Information
Suggested Usage Rate: 1–6%
Solubility: Water Soluble
Niacinamide can be incorporated into the water phase of cosmetic formulations. It may also be incorporated into suitable finished cream or lotion bases.
Niacinamide generally performs best in formulations within a moderate pH range. Strongly acidic conditions and prolonged exposure to excessive heat should be avoided, as unsuitable processing conditions may contribute to the formation of nicotinic acid, which can cause skin flushing or irritation.
Always conduct formulation, stability and compatibility testing to determine the appropriate processing conditions and final pH for your finished product.
