Colorant - Pigments

Cosmetic Grade Iron Oxides are invaluable in formulating mineral makeup, their earthy tones are used in foundations, matte eyeshadows, blushers, bronzers, lipsticks, mascara – the list is endless. They are very strong pigments and you will find a little goes a long way, so adding very small amounts at a time when formulating is always a good tip.

Unlike Coloured Micas, Iron Oxides need to be ground to prevent streaking and to make sure that they are well blended, this can be done all in one go together with your base powders in a high quality grinder or mixer should you wish.

Ultramarines are strong, flat, matte pigments most of which are vibrantly coloured, all have been manufactured to a very high purity and comply with all cosmetic standards. Used to colour lipsticks/eyeshadows, to adjust the hues in foundations, to make correctors...... the list is endless and basically they are invaluable in cosmetic formulation. They may all be used without restriction except for Ultramarines and Chromium Green which are not approved for use on the lips.

Neon / Fluorescent Pigments are not approved for cosmetic use by the FDA.
